Apple sauce
I absolutely hate wasting food. But I'm also a sucker for buying more fruit than my family can eat. It's like I think that just by buying it and putting it in the fruit bowl, we will somehow absorb the vitamins!
When I get sick of seeing those sad looking apples wilting away, I make apple sauce. I thought I'd share my recipe with you, since it is so easy to do. No more wasted apples. Now what can I do with wrinkly blueberries and grapes? Let me know in the comments if you have any tips!
Apple sauce ingredients
3 small apples, peeled and chopped
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
Three drops of vanilla essence
Apple sauce method
- Put all the ingredients in a saucepan and cover with water.
- Boil for about 45 minutes until most of the water has reduced.
- Purée with a staff mixer or in a blender.
